Raclette NYC has incredible cheese
This is raclette. The word applies to both the part (the cheese) and the whole (the cheese blanketing the plate of cornichons, onions et al.), from the French verb racler, to scrape. The dish originated in the Swiss Alps in the 13th century; a restaurant of the same name opened in the East Village in February. The chef, Edgar Villongco, is neither Swiss nor a chef by training. He was born in Manila, spent a decade working for a satellite-communications firm in the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and for the last three years ran a scooter shop on East 12th Street. (He lives around the corner.) He was introduced to raclette (the dish) by a French former girlfriend.

Bagatelle Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!! Really enjoyed this place from the service, to the atmosphere, and the food.. my gosh the food, was heaven. Guaranteed to have a great time, and will definitely create a night to remember. Supreme Drinking Chocolate at the Chocolate Room Instead of making do with a packet of powder and hot water, the Chocolate Room blends each cup of drinking chocolate to order. The store’s classic hot chocolate is a blend of 38 percent milk chocolate and Madagascar Vanilla. The Spiced Dark Hot Chocolate can warm you up on a cold night with bittersweet Belgian chocolate, Valrhona cocoa powder with Ancho and Chipotle chilies, cinnamon and cloves. Minetta Tavern Let me just say that Minetta Tavern is definitely worth the price, and their customer service is absolutely amazing. Riccardo the bartender, and Lauren the hostess were so sweet and gave my guests and I such a warm welcome. Definitely a happy surprise, and would definitely make a return visit. Entrees I would recommend: Tavern Steak with Pommes frites Veal "Porterhouse" Chop Chalk Point Kitchen Matt Levine's new Chalk Point Kitchen has already become a go-to for VIP after-parties and fashion events. Though this is expected from Levine, the man behind Sons of Essex and Cocktail Bodega, it shouldn't distract diners from the Asian-influenced, New American cuisine. The market-to-table menu features dishes like Beef Tartare, Sea Scallop Sashimi, and Montauk Pearl Oysters in addition to standout cocktails like the now-famous Kale Martini.
