The Alkaline Mucus
Reducing Diet

I stumbled unto information from Dr. Sebi, a herbalist who has been practicing since the 1990’s, who claimed to cure diseases by alkalizing the body with an alkaline diet consisting of only vegetables, fruits, nuts, alkaline grains, and legumes, which would also remove mucus from the body. Along with the diet he also used natural alkaline herbs to clean the body’s cells in the cellular, and intra-cellular level to remove disease from the body.
The alkaline diet is based on the premise that disease can only exist in an acidic environment. Dr. Sebi’s approach to disease is that it “finds it genesis when and where the mucous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is Bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is Pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is Diabetes; in the joints Arthritis.”
I am a bit pragmatic so I did research his method and the herbs that he used, and I found that the highly alkaline foods on Dr. Sebi’s nutritional guide and the alkaline herbs he used in his herbal tonics are foods you will find on alkaline food lists that circulate the web.
The herbs Dr. Sebi used are also traditional healing herbs such as, burdock root, sarsaparilla, and dandelion, which clean the blood and clean the liver, and they are now widely used in the every popular and growing holistic health movement. The thing is he has been doing this since the 90’s an I see him as a pioneer of this movement.
After some research, I decided to give Dr. Sebi’s alkaline diet nutritional guide a try to improve my healthy living. I developed a nutritional list and herbs list based on his list. (Dr. Sebi suggested not eating anything not on his original guide, so foods I decided to use sparingly, I noted as “I added this item.”)
I gave it a try and I am still going strong! The way the alkaline diet makes me feel is incredible. My energy level is fantastic and I don’t get tired anymore, even through hectic days. I thought I would miss eating fish, but I don’t even think about eating it anymore. I have loss weight and I don’t feel like I am carrying any dead weight. I now sleep heavy and when I wake up, I am fully awake right away and fully awake throughout the whole day.
Water!Drinking plenty of water a day is essential to making this alkaline diet work. A gallon of water is this nutritional guide’s suggested daily allowance, because water is essential to a healthy functioning body, and because many of herbs used are diuretics and increase urination to remove toxins from the body.
Water is needed to remove waste from the body, it cushions the joints and organs, and assists in the absorption of nutrients. The adult body on average is made up of 75% water, so water is needed to maintain healthy body functioning. (I drink ionized water now which raises the alkalinity level of the water and raises its antioxidant level.)
Microwaving food is not recommended by this nutritional guide because microwaving damages the nutrients in foodI have found conflicting information about whether microwaving damages food nutrients, with information supporting both sides. I have decided not to microwave my food because I believe it is harmful. I rather heat my food on the stove or in the oven, but I eat most of my food raw because raw food contains more nutrients than heated food whether microwaved or heated on the stove. Dr. Sebi doesn’t recommend eating anything that is not on the alkaline diet food list.
As I stated earlier, the Dr Sebi food list is very specific and excludes many whole-food plant-based foods. Dr. Sebi recommends staying away from hybrid foods (plants and their fruits made by cross-pollinating two or more plants) because they change the electrical nature and pH balance of the food for the worst. One such food is garlic, a plant food we are accustomed to eating but is not the best food t consume.

B12 injections, the new weight loss craze?
Vitamin B12 deficiency is a real thing. It can occur because of a poor diet, or because some medications (like acid blockers) interfere with absorption. Or it can occur because of a specific autoimmune disorder called “Pernicious Anemia.” Whatever the cause, the health consequences of vitamin B12 deficiency can include anemia, neuropathy , irritability, and depression.
There is a simple blood test to measure vitamin B12 levels, though the levels in the blood don’t always correlate with whether there are enough B12 levels in the cells themselves. We can test for this, too, indirectly, through other blood tests including methylmalonic acid and homocysteine levels. So we can, in fact, know if a person is truly deficient. These confirmatory tests are rarely done.
Instead, many adults are told that their vague symptoms of tiredness or fatigue are caused by B12 deficiency, instead of actually trying to address genuine issues like insufficient sleep, sleep apnea, overreliance on caffeine, and depression (to name a few of the many genuine causes of fatigue.)
It gets worse.
The treatment of B12 deficiency, as has been established from studies done in the 1960s, is ORAL B12. That’s right. Pills. Injections of B12 are not necessary—oral supplements work well, even in pernicious anemia. They’re cheap and they work. I suppose a very rare patient, say one who has surgically lost most of their gut, could require injections. But the vast majority of people with genuine B12 deficiency can get all of the B12 they need through eating foods or swallowing supplements. No needles needed.
So why this fetish with injections? From the patient’s point of view, shots feel more like something important is going on. Placebos need rituals—with acupuncture, for instance, the elaborate ritual creates an illusion of effectiveness. And from the doctor’s point of view, injections reinforce dependence on the physician, creating visits and cash flow.
So: people seem to think they feel better with injections, and the doctor makes a little cash, and everyone’s happy. So what’s the harm in that?
I think it’s wrong to knowingly dispense placebos, even harmless ones. We doctors like to criticize the chiropractors and homeopaths. We point fingers. They’re the quacks. We’d better take a close look at what we’re doing, first. Our placebos are sometimes far more dangerous than theirs.
More importantly, people should be able to expect more from physicians. Patients come to us for genuine answers—if they wanted a witch doctor, they would have found one. I think we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard than a huckster at the carnival. We’re not here to promise that we’ve got all the answers. We are here to be honest, and to use the best knowledge that science has to offer, using genuine compassion and thought. Let’s leave the quacking to the quacks. We’ll stick with real medicine.-Dr. Roy Benaroch Pediatrician

4 tips on how to eat healthier and easier according to SELF Magazine.
Cook things separately. When you make that pasta recipe (like these slimming dishes from SELF!), rather than mix all of the pasta and sauce together, just mix together the amount you want on your plate. Then store the leftovers separately. That way, instead of just having one pasta dish to eat on the rest of the week, you can mix and match the sauce and the pasta with other items to create new meals. For example, you might want to use the sauce on a pizza or serve it over chicken or fish. While you could toss the leftover pasta into a salad, soup, or serve it with a new sauce. Cook a basic protein in bulk. The one thing you may want to make in bulk at the beginning of the week is a basic protein, whether it be grilled chicken or hard-boiled eggs. Keep it pretty simple (rather than marinating the chicken in an Asian sauce, just brush with olive oil, salt, and pepper). This way it can take on new flavors so you can serve it in a greater variety of ways–on top of salads, in sandwiches, or on wraps, or even use in a casserole or stew. Shop strategically. Obviously, if you are cooking for one, you won’t want to buy things in bulk that will spoil easily. Instead take advantage of things that let you buy only the amount you need. In fresh produce, just buy one or two apples or carrots versus a whole bag and don’t be afraid to ask for a single chicken breast or fish fillet at the meat counter. Buy smaller amounts of cheese in the deli and look for half loaves of bread. You can even visit the bulk section to get small amounts of things like cereals, nuts, dried fruit, and oatmeal. Think outside the box for recipes. Don’t think a dinner for one has to be the traditional meat, starch, and veggie formula. For a perfect dinner for one, and something a little different, try breakfast for dinner. An omelet made with eggs and fresh veggies with fresh fruit and a piece of whole-wheat toast on the side makes a great balanced meal for one. Another great option is baking a potato in the microwave and topping it with leftover chicken, a little cheese, and some salsa and serving it with a salad on the side. One of my favorite meals to make for one is homemade pizza. I use a whole wheat pita and top it with marinara sauce, cheese, and veggies and pop it in the oven at 350

Here’s How You Can Heal Cavities In Natural Way!

All you need is a simple ingredient which you may already have in your home. Believe it or not, you can heal and prevent cavities with COCONUT OIL! Latest studies have proven that coconut oil stops cavities by attacking bacteria that cause it. - See more at: http://www.joanasrecipes.com/unbeliavable-but-true-heres-how-you-can-heal-cavities-in-natural-way/#sthash.U8LovNjk.dpuf
If health authorities insist on adding chemicals to water in order to stop tooth decay, then you should use natural coconut oil, not fluoride chemicals, based on the results of a new study. Researchers at the Institute of Technology Athlone (AIT) in Ireland have discovered that coconut oil has a great effect on inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria which can cause cavities and infections in the mouth without any harmful side effects.
For their study, a team of researchers from the school add enzymes and several other coconut oils to mimic how these oils are usually processed during digestion. The team then applied digested form of each of the oils on several bacterial strains, including Streptococcus Mutans, the main acid producing bacteria, which often occurs in the mouth, and Candida Albicans – a very problematic strain of yeast that can cause fungal infection in human mouth.
Famous Hollywood actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Shailene Woodley drew the attention of the public with the new trend of beauty, which has roots in ancient Ayurvedic medicine.
It is a treatment with daily oral rinse or coating with oil, which supposedly removes toxins from the body, strengthens immunity, removes toothache and headache, bronchitis, diseases of the intestines, heart and kidney disease, female diseases, cramps and many other diseases. Besides all of this oil puling with coconut oil is a great way to whiten your teeth.

4 hacks you did not know you could use with a flat iron
For s-shaped waves, you literally make an s-shape with your hair. Then, as with the pin curls, you use your flat iron to set that shape. The bent, zig-zag shapes create a more dynamic, unexpected wave that we can't get enough of.
A backstage tip we always see is creating French braids throughout the hair and then clamping them with an iron for an easy, relaxed, beachy wave. It really couldn't be easier.
Remember the crimped hair you thought looked totally rad in your middle school photos? Well, according to Cosmopolitan, you don't need a fancy crimper to pull 'em off anymore. Instead, as you're dragging your flat iron down the section of your hair, rock the iron forward and backward. It will create those cool, kinky waves we all know and love.
Our last tip actually has nothing to do with your hair, and is pretty clutch for those moments when you're stuck without a clothes iron. While your flat iron is cool, clean the plates with a warm washcloth and dry them completely. Then, put your iron on a low-to-medium heat and run it over your clothing until the wrinkles come out. Voilà — on-the-go ironing!

9 Money-Saving Weight-Loss Tips
by Jenny Sugar
Buy in Season
Pay $5.99 for a half pint of blueberries?! That's what you'll spend if you buy this antioxidant and fiber-rich fruit during the Winter months. Buy produce that's in season, and you'll not only save money, but the fruits and veggies you purchase will taste fresher too.
Buy in Bulk
Your local health food store's bulk section, you'll find dry beans, whole grains, coffee, and spices. Buying in bulk saves you money, and having them in your house will inspire healthy meals.
Measure Portions
Keep measuring cups on hand to calculate portion sizes. Measuring out what you eat makes the food you buy last longer, so you spend less dough. Plus it helps prevent consuming extra calories.
Bring Lunch From Home
Going out to lunch not only costs extra moola, it can also cost you extra calories. Meals other people prepare often contain add-ons that make for hidden calories, not to mention portion sizes tend to be larger than something you'd prepare. Save your waistline and your wallet by bringing lunch from home. Salads, sandwiches, and leftovers are a cinch to whip up, and if you buy fun,BPA-free reusable containers like these you'll be excited to pack your lunch each day.
Drink Water — It's Free
Depending on where you live, good old tap water from the faucet is usually safe to drink. Nature's beverage keeps you hydrated, which is essential for healthy skin and hair and a happy digestive system and to prevent illness — plus, it's cheap. Although milk and real fruit juices are healthy, drinking too many liquid calories is one way to gain weight. Keep the calories down and save money by sipping water most of the time.
Make Your Own Health Food
You could spend $1.50 on a Larabar or you could make your own fruit and nut bars for 65 cents. Healthy foods found at the grocery store sure offer convenience, but if you make your own, you'll save some money and are more apt to eat healthily. Get inspired and make your own homemade hummus for dipping veggies, snack on freshly baked kale chips, grab a food processor and whip up almond or peanut butter, satisfy your sweet tooth with fruit Popsicles, whip up delicious soups instead of resorting to the can, buy raw almonds for DIY almond milk, and forget the store-bought cookies and muffins and make your own baked goods.
Split Dinner Once in a While
When you're out to dinner, the dinner portions are usually so enormous that two people can easily be fed. Save money and avoid overeating by splitting an entrée with a friend.
Skip Dessert Out and Enjoy Fruit at Home
One slice of cheesecake will run you over 400 calories. You could split it, but aside from the calories adding to your waistline, the fat and sugar isn't doing much for your health. Skip dessert out and enjoy a fruity snack at home like these Creamy Peanut-y Apples With Grapes.
Don't Waste Money on Junk Food
A candy bar here, a bag of chips there, and a can of soda a few times a week may not seem like you're breaking the bank, but after time, all those little purchases start to add up. Think of all the money you'd save not buying junk food. Save your money and your calories and buy nutritious foods that fill you up and provide energy.

The 10 Worst Pieces of Dieting Advice Ever
BY LAUREN CARUSO, SENIOR WEB EDITOR, Daily Beauty Reporter
1. “Open your calendar. Cancel ALL (yes, every single one) of your work and social appointments set around food. NO eating out for the next seven days. Why tempt yourself? Your real friends will forgive you.”
I don’t know about yours, but my real friends would give me a swift kick in the ass before they let me ditch our weekly brunches in the name of crash dieting.
2. “Your Day Should Look Something Like This… *4 P.M. - Cycling Class”
Sure, there’s an asterisk that denotes you can technically work out at any time, but are you kidding me? Who the hell isn’t still at work for another two hours at 4 P.M.? That’s right: teenagers.
3. “IF IT HURTS IT’S WORKING. Remember, change isn’t usually comfortable. You will be hungry. You may be sore. You will probably cry. Withdrawal symptoms are common.”
Oh?
4. After telling you to throw out all the Diet Cokes and Snickers bars you’ve apparently been hoarding: “Feel bad about wasting? Too bad, hoarders don’t look hot on the beach.” What if I'm hoarding Beanie Babies? Or empty jars of La Mer?
5. “Have kids who eat chicken nuggets and tempting treats?
Their food is your poison. Do not touch it.”
6. “On the plus side, you can most definitely look forward to improved clarity and focus; plumped, younger-looking skin [editor’s note: um, WHAT?]…and honks from passersby as you walk down the street”
You can look forward to some sexual harassment! Awesome!
7. In the affirmations section: “Teeny bikinis and making love with the lights on motivate me to follow the plan!”
Oh come ON.
8. “I am grateful that my bangin’ beach bod is two sweet days away.”
Are the kids still saying “bangin’” or is this an attempt to appeal to my (somewhat older) age range, since we did, in fact, use the word “bangin’” regularly in 2001?
9. “My body feels light as a feather. My skin is clear and glows. My eyeballs are brilliant white.”
All this torture is really helping clear up that jaundice!
10. On the Bikini Passport itself: “it’s so gosh-darn inspiring.”
No. Just no.
Sure, the brand highlights that it allows you to eat two meals of wholesome vegetables and protein for the week (and they even have a list of approved foods that I'd highly recommend), but you get the feeling that you’d be getting the side eye if you so much as thought about a slice of bread. For the love of all things holy, every body is a bikini body. Just put on the damn bikini.
